Ankit with his principal, Dr Kiran
Some people should be lauded for just competing; Ankit Bramhabhatt, a 20–year–old battling bone cancer for the past 10 years, is one of them. But he hates just making the numbers. He wants to win. And a grand victory it was for him, when he scored 74 per cent in his third–year B.Com exams. Ankit, from Mithibai College, has already undergone nine operations, and even he doesn’t remember how many chemotherapy sessions he underwent. He said, “I dedicate my success to my mother, who suffered a lot. She brought up my sister and me single–handedly. And I cannot be more grateful to my principal, Dr Kiran Mangaonkar, who went out of his way to help me.”
