New Cancer Unit in North Bangalore

People of North Bangalore can heave a sigh of relief as cancer care will be easily accessible now. A centre has been inaugurated at Bangalore Baptist Hospital which will have a cancer radiation therapy unit. The centre will conduct both curative as well as palliative radiotherapy at economical rates for the needy.

Besides radiation therapy, there will also be medical and surgical treatments. Palliative care will be provided for terminally ill patients within a radius of 25km.

Dr Chandy Abraham, medical chief and deputy director of Bangalore Baptist Hospital, said the new centre will not only provide affordable treatment but also give free treatment for those in need. There will also be new wards for geriatric care and burns, he added.
